About the Authors Antony Worrall Thompson One of the UK's best-loved chefs and as the presenter of Saturday Cooks, co-presenter of BBC's Food and Drink and a chef on BBC2's Ready, Steady, Cook, also one of the most recognised. Passionate about organic food, Antony is also a keen exponent of healthy eating, epitomised by his popular food revolt on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here. He was diagnosed with Syndrome X, a pre-diabetic condition, and has vowed to reverse this condition by eating well, losing weight and giving up smoking.
Erica Jankovich is a state registered dietitian and private consultant at the Princess Grace hospital in London. She writes articles for the consumer press and contributes regularly to the IBS Bulletin. She is also an experienced teacher and lecturer.
Jacqui Lynas is a leading heart dietician and author. She is the consultant dietician to Heart UK and editor of their bi-monthy magazine. Author of several books on heart disease and diet, she is also a nutritionist for the cardiology department at the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, where she lives.
Dr Mabel Blades BSc, RD A dietician and nutritionist and an expert in the treatment of disorders by diet. She is the editor of Nutrition and Food Science and has written numerous papers, articles and a book on nutrition. Dr Blades's PhD focussed on diabetes.
Jane Suthering An experienced food writer and consultant, recipe developer and food stylist. She is the author of over 10 books and vice president of the Guild of Food Writers.
Paul Gayler has worked in some of London's most prestigeous restaurants and is currently executive chef at the Lanesborough Hotel. Paul has appeared as a guest on a number of TV programmes and was the main consultant for the ITV Chef of the Year competition. He is the author of a number of books including A Passion for Cheese (shortlisted for the Andre Simon award) and A Passion for Vegetables (winner of the Guild of Food Writer's Cookery Book of the Year.)
Azmina Govindji BSc, RD is a consultant nutritionist and registered dietitian and has written many books. She was Chief Dietition to Diabetes UK for eight years, where she acted as National Consultant on diet and diabetes and is currently Chairperson of the British Dieetic Association (BDA) Public Relations Committee and acts as a national BDA medoa spokesperson. She works with the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as the media.
Darina Allen is Ireland's best-known food ambassador and cookery writer. She founded the world-reknowned Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland in 1981 and has run several cookery demonstrations for coeliacs at her school. She has presented nine series of Simply Delicious on Irish television and travels and lectures extensively. A formey Veuve Cliquot Irish Businesswoman of the Year, she is also a tireless campaigner for local produce.
Rosemary Kearney runs her own catering business, Rosemary & Thyme. She has a degree in Food Science and has trained at the Ballymaloe School, where she now runs annual cooking courses for coeliacs.
Sophie Braimbridge is a chef, writer and cookery presenter and runs her own cookery school called 'Sophies Cookery Cube' in London. Classically trained by the Roux brothers, she has cooked at La Gavroche, The River Cafe, Sally Clarke's and Chez Panisse, San Francisco. She writes for Sainsbury's Magazine, Mail on Sunday, You Magazine, and Food and Wine (US) and has appeared on GMTV, the Carlton Food Network and Granada TV. |
